I was outside minding my own business when my son came out and his truck passenger door would not close. It was frozen in the lock position so he could not close it. I did get to look at my garden and noticed it had rain. So I had to get dressed and hold my son's truck door while he drove to a mechanic shop down the road. We had to wake up my husband to come get us. We looked a sight. My son was holding a box and I was in my normal attire, long dress with tennis shoes.
Then I came home and changed into my house dress and slippers. You can't weave with shoes on and the days I have to leave and have my shoes on are a bummer day.
I made a banana teacake this morning. I spent some time going through my mother's recipes and mine to find it. Of course, my daughter had put it under cakes instead of bread. It was a nice treat for a snack. I also took some chicken that we had earlier this week and made chicken salad. I used some of my piccalilli jars instead of pickle relish. The consensus is my daughter doesn't like it but husband likes it. Can't please everyone.
So thought I would have a relaxing afternoon.. But no! First, I heard a little tinkling sound and found my two tabby kittens playing with S hooks off the back of my loom. Now I am not sure how they get the S hooks to go around the thread so many times! Secondly, my daughter needed her phone bill to pay and sees she is still on the wrong plan. Poor phone customer service guy. But poor me, my phone tied up and no peace in my room.
I decided since the "twins", (what I call the brother/sister Tabby kittens) were asleep I could go warp 30 threads for my next weaving project. I have a warping mill and have a 16 yard+ guide thread on my warping mill. Tonks, the girl, loves to move the thread all close together. They will get on the back of the couch and bat the mill as I warp. So the best time is during their nap time. I was on the last 10 threads and she came into play. She wasn't happy when I moved her to the seat of the couch. During the last 10 I was also listening to "Project Hail Mary" on Audible and the guy is saying numbers, not helpful.
