Good afternoon, This has been a crazy week. The first three days were three different dentists. Also we have had wonderful night time thunderstorms and guess who has been fast asleep missing them, me. I am trying to get ready for the holidays. Now for me this is trying to get projects finished off my loom and one on my loom. Speaking of looms. I was putting on a warp for my next project. I had to go ask my husband a question in the other room. I left this warping mill for maybe five minutes. The twins, Albus and Tonks were sleeping or so I thought. I opened his office door to go back to the warping mill. I started again and the thread was wet and shortened. Yep, one of those two were had chewed the thread. I was lucky enough it was near the starting point and the re-attachment would not be part of the project. Those stinkers. Garden news: We have lost three watermelon to a rat. Recently we lost a cantaloupe that we were going to pick. We s...

So some YouTube accounts set up a month long challenge of putting up your harvest for the winter and so many follow. I live in the desert where it is 100+ degrees. My garden is basically waiting until fall. So I am not out in my garden harvesting. I should back track on that I did pull my garlic last month and let it dry. So for my daily putting up harvest I have made 31 garlic pucks for the freezer and 3 rows of garlic slices in the dehydrator. I poured them into a glass pint jar and I have half. You would think I would be finished. Oh no, the bowl is still three fourth's full. I can only peel and prepare garlic for maybe a few hours before the smell overcomes me. I drove my family nuts with the garlic so much that we had spaghetti/meatballs and garlic bread. I took one of the garlic pucks and melted butter to spread on the bread. A new favorite. I have been cleaning out the tomato plants. My mulcher can only handle so much. I am trying to give my pepper plants a chan...

Good afternoon, This morning I went for my crown. You didn't know I was royalty? No, my tooth is, King Molar. On the way back from the dentist office. I was just sitting at the light and it went green for the turn row. But the guy didn't go and I saw why, two went straight through the light. She/he had to wait for them. It wasn't just one car that wasn't paying attention but TWO. I had to shake my head in wonderment. There are times in our wonderful city that people changing lanes looks like a well choreographed scene other times it is like NYC where Rap, Jazz, and Ballet are competing on the streets. Weaving: I have a table runner on the Glimakra loom and on the RHL I have a blanket. My grand-daughter is weaving the blanket for herself. She did great the yarn is kind of hard to work with. She gave me permission to weave some for her. I find the benefit of the RHL is I can just weave anytime with my shoes on. The floor loom you have socks or booties on to work the tr...

Thursday 7-18-24 I was outside minding my own business when my son came out and his truck passenger door would not close. It was frozen in the lock position so he could not close it. I did get to look at my garden and noticed it had rain. So I had to get dressed and hold my son's truck door while he drove to a mechanic shop down the road. We had to wake up my husband to come get us. We looked a sight. My son was holding a box and I was in my normal attire, long dress with tennis shoes. Then I came home and changed into my house dress and slippers. You can't weave with shoes on and the days I have to leave and have my shoes on are a bummer day. I made a banana teacake this morning. I spent some time going through my mother's recipes and mine to find it. Of course, my daughter had put it under cakes instead of bread. It was a nice treat for a snack. I also took some chicken that we had earlier this week and made chicken salad. I used some of my piccalilli jars inst...
